"I knew something was wrong," she said as the bridge lights started to flicker. "Commander Porter, you have a background in computers, go to engineering, help them get rid of that virus." With a nod he stood and headed for the turbo lift at the rear of the bridge. "Commander Savage, Commander Porter is on his way down to help out. Do what you can, bridge out." These people were supposed to be our allies, she thought to herself, as she turned to zh'Vahi. "Hail that dam ship now." "Unable to open a channel, communication systems are down. Whatever they transmitted seems to be complete." The Vulcan operations officer replied. "Dam it! I want a full systems analysis now." Captain Kiani was starting to crack under the force of her own anger. And she didn't care that people knew any more either. Sonak tapped his console. "Aye sir. We have lost internal communication to everything below deck 7, and the pod. Internal sensors are also down in several areas of the ship. Weapons are offline, shields are offline, long range sensors are offline, short range are working at limited strength. Life support appears to be stable, and all transporters are offline. Turbo lift systems are unaffected. The medical systems are still online, they seem to be being avoided by the virus" he paused and looked up at the moment the lights started to flicker. "The one thing that does not seem to be affected is force fields. Force fields do appear to being activated, but the virus seems to actively be avoiding the system that disables them." Rebecca was listening intently as Sonak was reading off the list of seemingly unending failures. What possible reasons does the virus have for keeping force fields online.... she stopped, in horror at the thought she was having. "Disable all internal force field generators now. They are trying to isolate us." She reached down and picked up her phaser from the side of her command chair. "Arm yourselves. Bridge to all hands, intruder alerts, unknown number of hostiles. Arm yourselves, bridge out." The lights flickered once more. She watched as the other officers reached to where their emergency phasers were located. Sonak pulled out his tricorder and was taking scans at the same time. "Sir, im detecting phaser fire on several decks. Unknown amount of hostiles. My scans are..."he tapped several buttons. "They are erecting dampening fields. Scans are no longer effective." Rebecca sensed there was more to this. "They seem to know everything about us already. How do they know all of our procedures, they seem to know what are going to do before we do it." She looked around, hoping someone had the answer. Tharia zh'Vahi, the Andorian tactical officer was the first to speak. He was tapping his console. "Captain, it appears to be some form of cascade virus. I am detecting residual algorithms within the virus. It has a Federation signature. Checking." he tapped furiously at his console. "Confirmed, it appears to have some base code in common with the USS Galavant." Rebecca tried to hold in her surprise at this. "Well I guess that's one mystery down. We have to..." "Captain, I am detecting activity in the turbo shaft behind the bridge." Interrupted a security officer, who simultaneously turned to face the turbo shaft with his phaser drawn and tricorder still scanning. Rebecca turned to turbo shaft in question as the doors were pried open from the inside. Someone attempted to climb through the. Phasers from all directions converged on the turbo shaft, waiting for someone to come through. A hand appeared, throwing a small device. Instantly she knew what it was. "Everybody, down now!" as a large explosion at the back of the bridge took down several officers. Rebecca was crouched in front of her command chair. She quickly looked around the bridge. A few lucky officers were scrambling to their feet. She looked up to the tactical station and saw the security officer and Commander zh'Vahi dead, eyes glazed open, blood from a laceration on his forehead pooling around his around body. Someone came through the turbo shaft door, brandishing what looked like a Jem'Hadar disruptor. It fired several shots onto the bridge, hitting several junior officers who were fortunate enough to not die in the initial explosion. The lucky ones who dodged the shots were able to fire back, as 4 or 5 people suddenly entered the bridge. Managing to get cover behind different parts of the bridge. One stepped forward, and with a booming voice, shouted "Hold your fire!" Rebecca stopped. She stood up, phaser still drawn. "Who are you, and what are you doing on my ship?" She glared at the Stakoron man who stood before her. He stepped forward, to confront her. "My name is Krenek. And you are mistaken." He pulled a knife from his hip, took a step forward, and thrust it into her chest. "This is my ship now." |
